Feature Comics #79

Feature Comics #79 (July 1944) promises "The Doll Man in his Greatest Adventure" with the story "The Little Luck God," and Al Bryant's cover makes a compelling case — a bound and chained figure in a blue costume strains against his restraints on the floor while a dagger hangs by a burning rope above him, wax dripping toward the blade in a genuinely tense tableau. Surrounding the main scene, portrait boxes introduce the issue's varied cast: Blimpy, Rusty Ryan, Mickey Finn, and Lala Palooza along the left side, with Perky, Poison Ivy, Big-Top, Spin Shaw, and Swing Sisson lined up across the top. Quality Comics packed a lot of personality into one 10-cent package.
