Feature Comics #40
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis January 1941 issue of Feature Comics puts the tiny but formidable Doll Man front and center, shown mid-kick as he takes on two full-sized thugs in red jackets — a wonderfully dynamic cover by Will Eisner that makes the size contrast feel genuinely thrilling. The issue is packed with an impressive roster of characters previewed across the top and side panels: Mickey Finn, Poison Ivy, Reynolds of the Mounted, Bruce Blackburn, Dusty Dane, Big Top, Samar, Lala Palooza, Spin Shaw, Rance Keane, and Zero. Quality Comics was delivering real variety for a dime, and this issue — with Harry Campbell's interior work on "Candy and Sabotage" — is a fine snapshot of the anthology format at its Golden Age best.
