Feature Comics #102
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this September 1946 Quality Comics anthology says it all: Doll Man — tiny but mighty in his blue-and-red costume — clings to an oversized door lock, wrestling a massive key nearly as big as he is, with the tagline promising he'll "straighten out The Angle." Al Bryant's cover art makes wonderful use of forced perspective, shrinking the hero against everyday objects to striking effect, while portrait medallions along the sides remind readers that Lala Palooza, Rusty Ryan, Perky, Blimpy, and the banner characters — Swing Sisson, Poison Ivy, Big Top, Roscoe, and Mickey Finn — are all waiting inside. It's a wonderfully packed ten-cent package that captures the playful, imaginative energy of mid-1940s anthology comics at their most fun.
