This is the first volume of the Japanese-language edition of Fairy Tail, the long-running shonen fantasy manga series created by Hiro Mashima. It collects the opening chapters of the story, introducing the celestial spirit mage Lucy Heartfilia as she joins the eccentric and powerful Fairy Tail wizard guild, beginning her adventures with Natsu Dragneel and the rest of the guild's members. Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, this volume launched a series that became one of the most popular manga of the 2000s and 2010s.
