In 1936, the 19th Fantomet sails from the U.S. to Europe, only to be shipwrecked near the Orkney Islands. Stranded on the cursed island of Blacksay, the survivors soon fall victim to mysterious deaths fueled by greed and old tensions. As the group uncovers a hidden Viking treasure and the grave of the legendary king Harald Hårdråde, only Fantomet, the enigmatic Svein Asleifsson, and the doctor Douglas McQuade remain. Svein claims to be a Viking who has lived for a thousand years, and with the ancient ship and Harald’s remains, he prepares to sail into the unknown.

In "Hevnens tråder," the legacy of a forgotten puppeteer lives on through his creations, now awakened by the cruelty that took his home. When the man who evicted him dies, his puppets—once silenced by his hand—begin to move, their strings now guided by a vengeance long buried. As the children he once entertained remain unseen, their memories stir, and the line between performer and prey blurs in a tale of haunting retribution.
