Fantomen #14/2000
In "Den svarta drottningen," Fantomen stöter på en flaskpost med ett desperat rop på hjälp från en försvunnen vetenskapsman, leddande honom till en ö där det tycks råda demoner. The mystery deepens as he uncovers a sinister network where "Hälaren" och hans underhuggare kidnapper forskare och säljer dem till högstbjudande. Written by Lee Falk and Hans Jonsson, with art by Sy Barry, and a cover by Rudy Walk, this 2000 issue delivers classic Nordic pulp suspense with a touch of the occult.
In 1591, Queen Helena of Carpatia is kidnapped by her scheming sister Ilinca, who demands her abdication. With the jungle alive with danger and rebellion stirring, Fantomen steps in to rescue the queen and becomes entangled in a rising peasant uprising.
In "Demonernas ö," Fantomen follows a desperate distress signal from a missing scientist, leading him to a remote jungle island haunted by whispers of demons. What he uncovers is a sinister operation where the enigmatic Hälaren and his henchmen capture scientists, selling them to the highest bidder in a shadowy trade.
