Fantastic Four 2099 #5

The futuristic Fantastic Four has a price on their heads — a billion-dollar bounty, dead or alive — and this cover by penciler Humberto Ramos and inker Karl Kesel makes that threat feel delightfully urgent. The wanted poster dominates the image, featuring the Human Torch blazing with fire, a blue-suited woman, and a determined man in an FF uniform, while the rocky mass of the Thing bursts dramatically through the poster itself. Fantastic Four 2099 #5 is a fine snapshot of Marvel's 1996 reimagining of its first family, with "Strange Tidings" written by Karl Kesel and Joe Kelly and interior art by Matt Ryan and Al Williamson waiting inside.
