This second chapter of Marvel's five-part limited series brings the tension of the MC2 universe front and center, with cover art by Clayton Henry showcasing a striking clash between heroes and villains. Doctor Doom looms large in the foreground in his signature armored mask and green cloak, while a green-skinned young woman in purple charges beside him — and opposite them, a blue-suited figure unleashes an energy blast that erupts in a fiery explosion against a force field, with a blonde woman in blue visible just behind. Tom DeFalco and Ron Lim bring their seasoned storytelling to this series, making it a satisfying read for fans of Marvel's next-generation take on its most famous super-team.

Imprisoned by Doom, Thing recalls his origins and how a fight with Terrax created the injuries his armor was fashioned to protect. Doom uses the Power Cosmic to overwhelm all of the Fantastic Five and their allies and takes special delight in humbling Mr. Fantastic. However, the Thing escapes Doom's trap and although without his armor his left arm is horribly mangled, he intends to stop Doom.
