Fanboys vs. Zombies #18

Issue #18 of BOOM! Studios' Fanboys vs. Zombies delivers a vivid snapshot of convention-floor carnage, with a blood-soaked, curly-haired fanboy standing defiantly amid the wreckage of what was clearly once a comic con — convention badges, scattered comics, and a wrecked car all around him, while decomposing zombies loom through shattered walls in the background. The lone survivor clutches what looks like a staple gun as his weapon of choice, which feels perfectly on-brand for this series' gleeful blend of geek culture and the undead. Jerry Gaylord's detailed linework packs the cover with fun nods to fandom, making this 2013 issue a fitting showcase for everything the title does well.
