Fanboys vs. Zombies #1

San Diego Comic-Con has never looked quite this dangerous — the cover by Humberto Ramos drops a colorful crew of convention-badge-wearing fanboys and fangirls right in the middle of a full-blown zombie apocalypse, with the convention center looming in the background as the undead close in from every direction. Front and center, a spiky-haired guy in a green jacket clutches his con badge like a lifeline, flanked by friends including a pink-eared hat-wearing girl wielding a phone, a guy proudly sporting a "Zombies" t-shirt, and a Star Trek-costumed companion — the whole gang looking equal parts terrified and ready. Writer Sam Humphries and artist Jerry Gaylord kick off this Boom! Studios series with a premise that's genuinely fun: what happens when the people who know zombies best from fiction suddenly have to survive them for real?
