Laura, a nurse, admires Julius, a surgeon she works with. On their first date, he asks her to marry him. She is stunned, but accepts. They leave London to honeymoon on his estate in Scotland, which is picturesque, but isolated. When she slips and falls in a nearby river, one of her husband's patients who was there fishing, jumps in and saves her. With the patient holding her against him with their wet clothes clinging together suggestively, Julius comes upon the scene and assumes the worst. Eventually, Julius' jealousy causes Laura to fear for the patient's life.
