"Mr. Ticklefeather Takes Off" by W.T. Jones tells of a rotund man who visits wizard Ah Poo seeking a weight-reduction spell, which the wizard provides in the form of a magic potion. Another story follows a fairy named Silver Shoes who becomes trapped in a seaside pail belonging to a girl named Annette, escapes with the help of a sympathetic train passenger, and ultimately befriends water sprites before making a wish come true for a gardener named Dick Dodge whose strawberries had been eaten by birds. The collection also includes "The Kitchen Clock," a poem by Ida M. Rose, and a tale about a character named Gnobbly learning to whistle from the personified East Wind, who teaches him the magical art so he can entertain at fairy dances.
