Façades #9

Part of Éditions Polystyrène's elegant Collection Façades series, this ninth installment brings Léa Murawiec's Panique to the slim, striking format the line does so well. The cover's deep green field is broken by a single yellow-line drawing — a jagged, exploding shape bursting within a rectangular frame, its cracked edges radiating outward like shattered glass or a mind coming apart at the seams. For just 6,00 EUR, it's a beautifully restrained package that makes a quietly arresting case for what small-press comics can do in 2018.
