Daniel Boone leads a group of pioneers and soldiers through a dangerous wilderness journey, rationing powder and ammunition while evading Indian attacks. When a massive Indian assault begins under the command of Lieutenant Dequindre, Boone manages to negotiate a ceasefire by communicating with Captain Blackfish. The issue also includes a second story, "How the Cheyennes First Got Guns," which recounts how Hudson Bay Trade muskets were introduced to the Cheyenne Indians when they encountered strangers arriving with firearms and black powder.
