The legendary sword Excalibur dominates the cover of this third chapter in the Dutch-language Excalibur Kronieken series, its imposing blade rising between two striking figures — a young woman with flowing auburn hair and a battle-worn warrior with a broad, scarred face — rendered with rich, painterly detail by Alain Brion. "Luchar" promises a chronicle steeped in Arthurian myth, and Brion's fully realized artwork, from line to color, gives the series a cohesive, atmospheric visual identity.
