Xavier and the mutants of Genosha have been captured by the pirates, Stripmine and Appraiser, and infected with nannites that nullify their powers. Unus has betrayed them all in a bid to reassert himself as the prime power in Genosha. Shola's nannites burn out quickly and he is able to take out the pirates. As the mutants battle the pirate's army of trolls, they are attacked by the real mastermind behind the plan, Dark Beast.
