Two factions of mutants stand arrayed against each other beneath a vast, ominous presence looming in the dark sky above — its glowing eyes and outstretched wings casting a foreboding crimson glow over the entire scene. In the foreground, Rogue, a young woman bearing an Omega symbol, Gambit, and another X-Men–suited figure appear tense and troubled, while behind them Magneto, a blonde woman in white, a figure in frontier attire, and others hold their ground with cool resolve. Mahmud Asrar's cover composition for "Mad Women" does a wonderful job of conveying divided loyalties and high stakes within Tini Howard and Marcus To's Krakoa-era Excalibur run.
