Atsushi Kaneko's Evol continues with this striking second volume from Delcourt/Tonkam, its cover commanding attention with a severe close-up of a masked figure whose eyes are obscured by a bold red-and-green logo dripping with what appears to be blood. The stark black-and-white linework, punctuated by those vivid red accents, gives the image an unsettling, almost hypnotic intensity that fans of Kaneko's sharp graphic sensibility will immediately appreciate. A confident and arresting entry in this 2023 series that makes it very hard to put down before you've even opened the cover.
