The sunny yellow cover of this second volume from Guillaume Bianco and Antonello Dalena says it all: young Rebecca, grinning wide inside a round orange creature costume (or perhaps her cheerful companion Ernest himself), charges forward while a delightful parade of quirky little blue and purple critters scatter around her. Subtitled Sam le repoussant, the album promises the same warmhearted, wonderfully weird energy that makes this all-ages French-Belgian series such a treat. A charming 2009 release from Le Lombard that's hard to resist.
