“Fourth Gear”

In "Fourth Gear," Sam journeys to the ruined town of Leadbelly, searching for something vital to Ford, while Enginehead faces a desperate plea from Metallo—his request to be made human again leaves Enginehead unsure how to respond. As Enginehead helps Arturo’s mistress regain her mobility, the cost of his power becomes painfully clear, leaving her permanently changed. Written by Joe Kelly and brought to life with striking visuals by Ted McKeever (pencils and inks) and Chris Chuckry (colors), this 2004 issue of Enginehead blends emotional weight with the series’ signature blend of sci-fi and human drama, all framed by McKeever’s intense cover art.
