The series was announced in early 2025 and confirmed at the ComicsPRO industry summit, with Marvel pairing writer Amy Chu — previously known for Red Sonja and Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death — with artist Andrea Di Vito, whose earlier Marvel credits include Deadpool and Invincible Iron Man. Chu stated publicly that the project was framed as a globe-trotting action thriller set explicitly before Emma acquired her secondary diamond mutation and before her turn toward heroism, a period of the character's history left largely untouched by prior solo titles. The series editor was Martin Biro, with Tom Brevoort serving as executive editor; covers across all five issues were provided by David Nakayama. The entire five-issue run was collected in a trade paperback edition published in early 2026.
