Elvira Mistress of the Dark #5

Elvira finds herself in a tight spot on Joe Linsner's cover for this 2019 Dynamite issue — coiled in the dripping, striped tentacles of some unseen creature while casually clutching a copy of Times magazine asking "Are Monsters Real?" That deadpan composure in the face of slimy peril is pure Elvira, and Linsner's painted linework gives the whole scene a gorgeous, pulpy warmth. A fun entry in this series for any fan of the Mistress of the Dark.
