Elric: The Balance Lost #10

Issue ten of twelve in BOOM! Studios' ambitious Michael Moorcock adaptation finds the white-haired Elric standing with his back to us, dark armor glinting as he grips what appears to be a glowing crimson artifact, an army of shadowy, pike-bearing figures looming all around him in the ashen gloom. It's a cover that communicates scale and dread in equal measure — the lone champion surrounded, the balance of worlds hanging by a thread. Writer Chris Roberson and artist Francesco Biagini deliver a penultimate-stretch chapter that feels appropriately epic for a saga building toward its conclusion.
