ElfQuest: The Discovery #3

Wendy and Richard Pini's beloved ElfQuest universe continues with this third installment of The Discovery, published by DC in 2006. The cover, rendered by Wendy Pini, draws the eye to a luminous green-skinned elf emerging — seemingly conjured or contained — within a swirling sphere of water or magical energy, while two elves on either side reach toward her with obvious intensity: a white-haired figure on the left and a auburn-haired, pointed-eared figure in gold on the right, with a glowing sword-wielding figure hovering above. It's a visually charged moment that makes issue three feel like exactly the right time to see what this "Discovery" is all about.
