The fifth volume of Soleil's Elfes series arrives with "La dynastie des elfes noirs," and Ma Yi's cover sets an immediately commanding tone — a pale, sharp-featured dark elf in ornate armor crouches atop a gargoyle-like perch beneath a crescent moon, a shadowy castle spire looming in the background. Every detail, from the figure's silver-white skin to the intricate, almost organic-looking plate armor, radiates menace and otherworldly elegance. If this 2014 entry's cover is any indication, fans of dark fantasy world-building are in for something genuinely atmospheric.
