Elfen #31
Three striking figures dominate the cover of this thirty-first chapter in the long-running Elfen saga: a towering, fur-cloaked warrior bearing a great axe stands behind two blue-skinned elven women — one armored in gleaming silver-gold plate and clutching a sword, the other smaller and dressed in deep red. Kyko Duarte's linework renders them against a wintry landscape of ancient standing stones, bare branches, and a luminous golden motif that glows behind the group like something sacred or ominous. With Jean-Luc Istin and Dieter Van Tilburgh steering the story into the chapter they call "Ylanoon," this 2024 installment looks to be a brooding, beautifully realized entry in one of fantasy comics' most visually ambitious series.
