The second volume of Daedalus's Dutch-language fantasy series Elfen arrives with a striking cover by Gianluca Maconi: a powerfully built wood-elf archer stands tall in dark green hooded armor, longbow in hand, against a misty forest pool where a pale figure floats just beneath the surface. The tension between the warrior's guarded composure and that haunting background detail sets a brooding, atmospheric tone perfectly suited to the subtitle "De eer van de boselfen" — the honor of the wood-elves. With Nicolas Jarry's writing and Diogo Saito's rich coloring rounding out the creative team, this 2014 release promises a world of elven mythology rendered with real visual weight and seriousness.
