El Gaucho #[nn]
Milo Manara's cover for this 1996 Lizard Edizioni release places a boldly dressed gaucho at the center of a vivid, energetic scene, flanked by figures in period colonial costume whose dynamic postures fill the frame with color and movement. The rich palette — courtesy of colorist Laura Battaglia on the interior pages — finds its spirit echoed in Manara's lush linework, which brings an unmistakable warmth and sensuality to the South American setting. A collaboration between Manara and the great Hugo Pratt, El Gaucho promises the kind of beautifully crafted historical adventure these two Italian masters did so well together.
