When Ziggy Zeigler shoots the leader of a buffalo herd, the wounded animal gores his leg and escapes. Zeigler insists his group continue the hunt and they enter Bushira tribal homelands where the buffalo are sacred. Tarzan is drawn by war drums and convinces Chief Njoka that killing white men will lead to punishment, but Mkawa has already left to deliver justice. Tarzan follows, but is too late to save the first two men in the hunting group. While Tarzan fights to stall the warriors, Zeigler pushes on. The buffalo also pursues Zeigler and the pair, driven by revenge, die together.
