From J. H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman's visually ambitious Image series comes the fourth chapter of "Hope's Crucible" — and the cover alone signals something deeply unsettling. A white-haired figure in vivid red, surrounded by dark, wing-like forms and rising bubbles, appears caught in a drowning or dreamlike descent, rendered in Williams III's signature painterly style with Dave Stewart's moody, contrasting colors. This wide-format 2021 series continues to push the boundaries of sequential art design, and this issue looks like no exception.
