The second issue of Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta's alternate-history epic arrives with a striking burnt-orange cover depicting two figures — a weathered, intense man in the foreground and a larger, armored figure looming behind him — rendered in Dragotta's spare, graphic style against a warm amber field. The repeated "DING DING" above them lends an almost ominous playfulness to the scene, hinting at confrontation or ceremony in this fractured version of America. With Frank Martin's warm, limited palette making every line sing, this April 2013 issue keeps the momentum building on one of Image's most ambitious sci-fi westerns.
