East of West #1

From Image Comics in March 2013, East of West arrives with a cover that sets a striking, spare tone: a white-hatted gunslinger looms in the upper frame, pistol leveled directly at the viewer against a muted olive and navy palette. Nick Dragotta's minimalist design — bold title lettering dominating the lower half, that lone figure coolly threatening above — promises a series with real stylistic confidence. Jonathan Hickman, Dragotta, and Frank Martin are clearly building something ambitious here, and this opening chapter, "Out of the Wasteland," is as compelling an invitation as any first issue could offer.
