Two fierce dwarven warriors — a smaller, red-scarved companion and a broad-shouldered, dark-haired fighter clad in heavy armor — stand resolute on a snow-dusted rocky ledge, a forbidding mountain fortress looming in the mist behind them. This is "Tala van de smidse," the sixteenth chapter of Daedalus's Dutch-language fantasy series Dwergen, brought to life in 2021 by writer Nicolas Jarry and artist Pierre-Denis Goux, with colors by Élodie Jacquemoire. Goux's cover art strikes a confident balance between rugged grit and epic atmosphere, making this a compelling entry in one of Belgian fantasy comics' more ambitious ongoing adventures.
