IDW's Dungeons & Dragons: Mindbreaker #1 kicks off with a cover by Max Dunbar that throws you straight into the action — a white-haired warrior unleashes blazing magical energy from twin blades while a red-caped sorceress stands ready at his side, the two of them surrounded by a pack of snarling, clawed beast-creatures in what appears to be a grand library setting. The title "Mindbreaker" promises something darker and more cerebral than a standard dungeon crawl, and with writer Jim Zub and artist Eduardo Mello steering the story, there's real craft behind this 2021 series. A strong first issue for D&D fans and newcomers alike.
