IDW's Dungeons & Dragons: Shadows of the Vampire kicks off in 2016 with a cover by Max Dunbar that drops a battered adventuring party right into the thick of a vampire-filled horde — a bald, armored warrior swings his sword overhead while a spellcaster crackles with arcane lightning at center, flanked by a yellow-scarved swordswoman and a young ranger, all pressed in on every side by snarling undead. Writer Jim Zub and artist Nelson Dániel promise a dark, gothic adventure that leans hard into D&D's most atmospheric corner. If you've ever wanted your fantasy comics drenched in dread and packed with a full party fighting for their lives, "Dead of the Night" looks like a very good place to start.
