About this Issue

DuckTales #10 (December 2025) is part of the first ongoing comic series set in the original 1987 Disney Afternoon DuckTales universe to appear in over a decade — a run that Dynamite Entertainment launched in November 2024 as the fourth comic series based on that animated series and the first new canonical Disney Afternoon project since the cancellation of Joe Books' Darkwing Duck comic. Arriving squarely on Christmas Eve, issue #10 represents a deliberate seasonal milestone for the series, deploying nearly the full ensemble cast of the animated show — Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack, Gyro Gearloose, Gizmoduck, Mrs. Beakley, and Duckworth — in a holiday-themed story that reads as both a character showcase and a love letter to the franchise's multigenerational fanbase. As the tenth installment of a run that had already weathered significant publication delays, its timely December 24 release date signaled the series finding its footing, and its all-cardstock cover program (with five distinct artists) reflects Dynamite's ambition to sustain collector engagement across the Disney Afternoon revival it is spearheading.

History

The Dynamite DuckTales series was announced on July 23, 2024, with writer Brandon Montclare (known for Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and Rocket Girl) and artist Tommaso Ronda (Kalya) as the core creative team, joined by colorist Agnese Eterno and letterer Fabio Amelia under editor Nate Cosby. The series launched in November 2024 and was conceived as a continuation faithful to the 1987 animated series' setting and character designs, though the writer incorporated character nuances drawn from the 2017 DuckTales reboot for the nephews. Early issues in the first story arc ('Four Corners of Your World,' issues #1–5) suffered from notable release delays outside Dynamite's control — at one point stretching four months between consecutive issues — but the run appeared to stabilize by the time #10 reached shelves in late December 2025.
