Duck Avenger #3

The caped, masked Duck Avenger stands small but defiant against an enormous, horned mechanical skull that looms over him like a colossus — it's a striking composition that immediately conveys the scale of whatever challenge awaits in "Shadows on Venus." Claudio Sciarrone's cover work does excellent work balancing the hero's determined stance, gadget in hand and red cape billowing, against the eerie technological menace filling the background. At 72 pages of all-action storytelling from writers Francesco Artibani, Simone Stenti, and Jonathan Gray, this 2017 IDW Disney Comics release is a genuinely satisfying chunk of superhero duck adventure.
