Drifter #6

The sixth chapter of Image's sci-fi series Drifter arrives with a cover that pulls no punches — a close, intense portrait of a hardened figure staring straight out at the reader, a weapon raised dead-center before his face, bathed in moody blues and purples against a fractured, blood-red backdrop. Overlaid green pixel-block graphics give the whole composition a disturbingly glitchy, surveillance-feed quality that feels both futuristic and unsettling. Nic Klein's painted cover work here is atmospheric and assured, making this 2015 Image release a compelling entry point into Ivan Brandon and Klein's gritty outer-frontier world.
