Dream Police wraps up its twelfth issue with a cover that perfectly captures the series' blend of hard-boiled tension and surreal dreamscape atmosphere — a gun-toting detective in an open jacket stands defiant against a swirling, psychedelic backdrop of cosmic imagery and a cityscape below, while a striking dark-haired woman's face looms large in the foreground, her expression cool and guarded. Sid Kotian's linework is sharp and assured, grounding these larger-than-life figures against HiFi's vivid, otherworldly colors. J. Michael Straczynski's 2016 Image Comics series continues to look like one of the more intriguing genre mashups on the shelves.
