Donald Duck & Co #16/2000
In "Brannmannen," Donald Duck recounts a long-ago adventure with Scrooge McDuck to a group of young listeners, recalling their time on the untouched island of Aloaei. When a sacred ruby is stolen from a temple statue, the duo retrieves it—only for Scrooge to accidentally send it plunging into a hidden lake where the malevolent god Utih lies in wait. Years later, the islanders summon Donald and Scrooge to face judgment for their actions. Written by Pat McGreal, Carol McGreal, and Nina Svendsrud, with art by Ferioli and inks by Angeles Felices, this tale blends mystery and myth in a story that lingers long after the final panel.
