Published by Boom! Kids in 2010, this issue of Walt Disney's Donald Duck and Friends puts our favorite duck right in the thick of a fantastical confrontation. The cover depicts Donald — dressed in what appears to be period adventure attire — scrambling alongside two alarmed human companions as an enormous, monstrous version of Donald's own visage looms menacingly overhead, its giant clawed hands reaching down toward the trio. It's a wonderfully surreal and dynamic image that perfectly captures the blend of humor and genuine peril that makes this long-running series such a treat.
