Doctor Strange Damnation #2

The second chapter of this 2018 Marvel event series delivers a cover by Rod Reis that crackles with infernal energy — a sprawling ensemble of Marvel's darker heroes, including two Ghost Riders (one flaming-skulled, one in a sleek black suit), Blade sword in hand, a web-slinging Spider-Man, a gun-toting figure in a dark cape, and several more warriors all lunging toward a massive, looming demonic face that dominates the right side of the image. The composition brilliantly conveys the scale of the threat these street-level and supernatural fighters are charging headlong into. With Nick Spencer and Donny Cates co-writing and Szymon Kudranski on interior art, this is a satisfying blend of hellfire action and Marvel's mystic corner at its most urgent.
