Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme #10

This haunting cover by Javier Rodríguez and Álvaro López says more with restraint than most action-packed images could — a pale, ashen figure clutches his own face with both hands, a single wide eye peering through splayed fingers while the Eye of Agamotto glows ominously at his chest, all wrapped in the sweeping red-lined folds of a billowing cloak. The imagery suggests a Sorcerer Supreme pushed to some terrible psychological or mystical edge, making it one of the more quietly unsettling covers of 2017. With Robbie Thompson writing and Nathan Stockman on art, colored by Tamra Bonvillain, this series continues to find fresh, eerie angles on Marvel's world of high sorcery.
