Doctor Doom #8

A wall of green-and-gold armored Doombots — rifles raised, a banner visible through the flames behind them — marches in formation, led by a single, more distinct figure striding forward with a long spear in hand and arms crossed with quiet authority. Salvador Larroca and Guru-eFX give the image a striking military grandeur, all blue-glowing circuitry and roaring fire, that makes "Peace in the Valley" feel like a title dripping with irony. Christopher Cantwell's Doctor Doom continues to be one of Marvel's most visually commanding series, and issue #8 looks like a fine place to feel that tension between order and overwhelming force.
