Doc Savage #6

The cover of this 1973 Marvel issue says it all — a massive, armored creature dominates the scene, clutching Doc Savage and a woman in its enormous grip while a gunman fires from above, only to be met with the chilling declaration that bullets simply won't stop it. Gil Kane's pencils and Frank Giacoia's inks bring an almost kinetic, larger-than-life menace to the story title "Where Giants Walk!" that perfectly captures the pulp adventure spirit of the Man of Bronze. Gardner F. Fox's script and Ross Andru's interior art promise the kind of breathless action that made Doc Savage one of Marvel's most compelling early-1970s adventure titles.
