Volume 16 of Yuji Iwahara's Dimension W closes out this Ki-oon seinen series with a cover that radiates quiet intensity — an elderly white-haired man cradles a small, glowing figure in his outstretched hands, while a brooding dark-haired silhouette looms at the edge of the frame. The contrast between the luminous, almost ethereal small figure and the two imposing presences around her sets a tone that is equal parts melancholy and wonder. A fitting visual statement for a 2020 finale volume from one of seinen manga's more inventive science-fiction voices.
