The fifth volume in this Belgian-born series, published by Carlsen Comics for German-speaking readers, brings the four young protagonists face-to-face with the mysterious Kuruku. François Craenhals's cover captures the energy perfectly: a suited figure is sent flying dramatically through the air, legs kicking skyward, while several of the kids look on in the background against a bright, open sky. It's a lively, humor-tinged image that nicely sets the tone for Georges Chaulet's brand of lighthearted adventure.
