Tony Sandoval's distinctive watercolor-tinged linework gives this 2023 Cross Cult release an immediately arresting mood — the cover places two pale, dark-haired figures standing in an open, stormy landscape, with a salmon-pink sofa and what appears to be a body lying nearby, birds scattering into a brooding sky above. The title Die Leiche und das Sofa ("The Corpse and the Sofa") promises something wistfully strange, that particular blend of melancholy and dry surrealism Sandoval handles so well.
