The fifth volume of Die Füchsin arrives with a cover by Rafa Garres that immediately earns its title — "Karneval der Toten." A fierce red-haired woman stands defiantly at center, sword raised and clutching a small figure, while an encircling horde of skeletal and monstrous creatures closes in from every shadow around her. Garres's rich, painterly linework gives the scene a dark, baroque energy that feels equal parts fairy tale and nightmare. Writer Brice Tarvel and the German-edition team have delivered a fifth chapter that, judging by this striking cover alone, shows the series in full, confident stride.
