Die Blauen Boys #16

Die Blauen Boys band 16 brings another charming Civil War-era adventure with "Ein väterlicher Freund" (A Fatherly Friend), published by Carlsen Comics in 1996. Willy Lambil's cover art sets a wonderfully warm and humorous tone, showing two Union soldiers — one portly, one smaller and blue-uniformed — seated at an outdoor table, while in the background a tall, top-hatted silhouetted figure strolls cheerfully alongside a companion near a tranquil lake and mountain landscape. Writer Raoul Cauvin and artist Lambil once again prove an irresistible team, blending their signature comedic sensibility with a pleasantly sunny atmosphere that makes this German-language edition hard to pass up.
